Dance

Folklorico

Folkloric dance reflects the traditions, customs, legends, beliefs, and lifestyles of people in particular countries and regions. Folklórico is composed of musical pieces reflecting various parts and folk music genres of México. This class is excellent for people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Anybody with a genuine desire and passion for the performing arts can try this expressive dance form reflective of Mexican culture.

Ballet

In this class, children will explore the basics of creative dance (shape, form, musicality) combined with age-appropriate pre-ballet exercises. This class introduces children to the basics of ballet in a low-key and fun atmosphere.

Music

Guitar

This class is designed for students who wish to develop basic guitar-playing skills or expand their existing skills. Students will learn the basics of playing guitar at a beginning level by studying music notation, chord symbols, and peer modeling. The main objective of this class is to create an enhanced appreciation for music through playing the guitar.

Singing

Children will explore a variety of music in a fun and supportive environment while gaining vocal training and self-confidence. Vocal instruction includes A repertoire for performance, rhythm practice, ear training, basic music notation & solfege hand signs, and music history. We take full advantage of the brain’s ability to absorb musical skills in an age-appropriate way.

Rockband

Learning to play in a band is a challenging but rewarding endeavor that can provide a sense of accomplishment, teamwork and self-confidence. Playing multiple instruments can improve hand strength, coordination, and dexterity, which can be beneficial for overall physical health and well-being.

Piano

Learning the piano can be a fun and fulfilling experience. Research has shown that learning to play an instrument, such as the piano, can improve cognitive function in adults. This includes improving memory, attention, and overall brain function. In this beginner class, students learn to read sheet music, music theory, and techniques and play their favorite songs.

Visual Arts

Painting

This course introduces participants to the critical concepts of fine art. Each lesson starts with explanations and examples from art history. It is recommended for beginners and art lovers who want to refresh and pull their skills together.

Crafts for Kids

This class encourages young children to explore and express themselves through art activities and introduces them to beginning skills and art tools. This class will allow students to experience clay, printmaking, collage, design, and more.

Drama

Theater

Casa Circulo Cultural’s first program was an adult theater program as a fun space for community members to explore their own experiences as immigrants or first-generation Americans and pay homage to famous plays, Latinx playwrights and actors throughout history. The instructor will often guide developing characters, using voice and movement, improvisation, scene work, monologue study, and working collaboratively with other actors.
